About The Role

Techstars is a global accelerator that empowers founders through its proprietary operating system, Techstars OS. As a Backend Engineer, you will bridge data infrastructure and product teams, building robust ELT pipelines, managing Kubernetes‑based platforms, and ensuring secure, high‑performance services. You’ll collaborate across engineering, security and product functions to deliver reliable, observable systems that power the accelerator operations and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines across systems like Salesforce, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and internal APIs
Own and evolve Kubernetes‑based infrastructure using Helm, OpenTofu and GitHub Actions, ensuring cluster health and security
Partner with security engineers for incident response, observability and reliability improvements
Manage PostgreSQL schema, migrations, performance tuning and data integrity
Develop internal tooling and integrations linking third‑party SaaS platforms to Techstars OS

Requirements

  • Proven experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
  • Hands‑on production experience with Kubernetes (AWS EKS preferred) and Helm
  • Expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as OpenTofu or Terraform
  • Advanced Python programming for data engineering and automation

B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields, 2020-2025 passout
