About The Role

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is a global leader in open‑source software delivering enterprise‑grade solutions for cloud, AI/ML and data analytics. As a Python and Kubernetes Software Engineer you will build end‑to‑end data and ML workflow platforms, integrate cutting‑edge open‑source tools, and enable customers worldwide to run scalable analytics on Kubernetes. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to community releases, and ensure high availability and security of the platform.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ML workflows on Kubernetes clusters.
Integrate and customize open‑source tools such as Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow, dbt and Superset.
Write production‑grade Python code, Helm charts and operators to automate deployment and monitoring.
Collaborate with product, data science and infrastructure teams to ensure performance, security and reliability.
Contribute to open‑source community by reviewing code, writing documentation and participating in releases.

Requirements

  • Strong Python programming experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, Helm, custom resources).
  • Proficiency in data engineering tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or Apache Superset.
  • Familiarity with ML lifecycle platforms such as Kubeflow or MLflow.
  • Solid understanding of Linux environment, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
