About The Role

HackerRank, a leading global tech assessment platform, is modernising its data ecosystem to power AI‑driven insights for enterprise customers. As a Data Engineer II in Bangalore, you will design, build, and maintain high‑performance data pipelines, enable in‑product analytics, and support next‑generation AI features, collaborating closely with senior engineers and product teams.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain data pipelines on StarRocks, Apache Hudi, Trino and Spark.
Support in‑product data features such as exports, dashboards and custom reports.
Prepare clean datasets for AI‑native features like natural language querying.
Implement data security policies using Apache Ranger.
Troubleshoot pipeline issues and contribute to documentation and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience with SQL and Python/Scala for data engineering.
  • Proficiency in building ETL pipelines using Spark and Trino.
  • Experience with modern data warehouses/lakes such as StarRocks and Apache Hudi.
  • Understanding of data modeling, partitioning and performance tuning.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment.
