About The Role

Starburst is a global product‑based data platform that empowers enterprises to access and analyze distributed data securely at scale. As a Presales Onboarding Engineer, you will work closely with sales, professional services and customers to design, deploy and validate Starburst solutions, lead proof‑of‑concepts, and ensure smooth migration to production, driving customer success and product adoption. You will also provide technical guidance, gather feedback for product enhancements, and act as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities

Execute customer proof of concept studies and validate deployments.
Provide technical consultancy on architecture, deployment, and design.
Collaborate with sales, presales, and professional services to ensure successful onboarding.
Troubleshoot technical issues during evaluations and guide migration from legacy platforms.
Gather product feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and distributed query engines (e.g., Trino, Presto).
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux/Unix, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills with ability to present technical concepts.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, 2020‑2024 passouts.
  • Ability to script/automate deployments using Python or Bash.
