About The Role

As an AI Engineer at GitLab, you'll help build the foundation for GitLab's transformation into an AI-first company. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI-powered solutions, design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that drive business outcomes, and collaborate with the AI engineering team to build and maintain a robust AI platform.

Responsibilities

As an AI Engineer at GitLab, you'll help build the foundation for GitLab's transformation into an AI-first company.
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise AI, you'll be a hands-on technical leader responsible for delivering internal AI-powered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Building fast matters, but it's not enough on its own. This role starts with understanding the real problem: mapping how work moves across teams, tools, and handoffs.
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI-powered solutions.
You'll design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that drive business outcomes.
You'll collaborate with the AI engineering team to build and maintain a robust AI platform.
You'll work with the product management team to define and prioritize AI-powered features.
You'll collaborate with the data science team to integrate AI models into the platform.
You'll work with the engineering team to integrate AI-powered solutions into the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in AI engineering or related field
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment
