About The Role
Join GitLab's Data Engineering and Monetization group as an Intermediate Backend Engineer, Analytics Instrumentation. Collaborate with product teams to assess user behavior and make evidence-based choices through privacy-conscious instrumentation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data collection platforms for product usage and billing event data
Collaborate with product teams to assess user behavior and make evidence-based choices
Build privacy-conscious instrumentation that captures product usage throughout the user lifecycle
Work with the Data Engineering and Monetization group to ensure data quality and integrity
Contribute to the development of new features and tools to support analytics instrumentation
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Develop and maintain technical documentation for analytics instrumentation platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data collection platforms and instrumentation
Requirements
- B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science or related field
- 2 years of experience in backend engineering, data engineering, or analytics instrumentation
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices
- Experience with data collection platforms, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
