About The Role
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. We're hiring 2025 and 2026 Graduate Software Engineers to work on various software engineering challenges in open source products and commercial business systems.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain open source software and operating systems
Work on various software engineering challenges in open source products and commercial business systems
Collaborate with global teams to align on strategy and execution
Contribute to the open source stack, including Linux, kernel, drivers, and desktop applications
Work on compilers, toolchains, security, cryptography, performance, and documentation
Package software and make deep contributions to a single body of code
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent academic record
- Strong understanding of open source software and operating systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, and Bash
- Experience with Linux, kernel, drivers, and desktop applications
- Good communication and collaboration skills
