This Software Engineer I (Backend) role in Bengaluru offers engineers the opportunity to work on high-performance backend systems in a startup environment where speed, ownership, and product impact are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for fintech products.

Build and optimize REST, gRPC, and GraphQL APIs for internal and customer-facing systems.

Develop performance-focused backend components using Go or Java.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues in distributed computing environments.

Contribute to system design for scalability, availability, and reliability.

Work with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support deployments.

Ensure backend systems follow security best practices and networking standards.

Collaborate with product and engineering teams in a fast-paced development cycle.

Requirements

1–2 years of technical experience in backend software development.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design.
Excellent programming skills in an object-oriented language, preferably Go or Java.
Hands-on experience designing and developing REST, gRPC, and GraphQL APIs.
Basic understanding of networking and security protocols such as HTTPS and SSL.
Experience with AWS services, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed systems.
Ability to build and maintain critical software in a quality-focused environment.
